I... do think there's still something we can do for them. At least, that's sort of what it sounds like, from what we've heard from other people...

Sheila said that someone told her they were being watched over. If they were... gone... there wouldn't be anything to watch over, right?

... But they've been eaten. How can they be watched over if they're literally dead, and gone, and eaten?

From what I understand, their souls are still... [well.] ...able to be watched over. At last, that's the impression I got from what I heard from Sheila.

It didn't seem so strange to me, but that might just be because of what the world I come from is like.

From the sound of it, it is in most places.

But where I come from, when a mortal dies, one of two things happens - their soul passes into the cycle of reincarnation, or if they have a strong enough attachment to the world, they remain as a ghost.

How did Sheila find this out?

She's doing a survey of sorts, to determine what sorts of questions have already been asked of and answered by the Avatars.

.... That's a pretty big undertaking. Given we must ask them so much stuff.

She thought it'd be a good idea so we could focus our future questions on things that haven't already been asked.

It makes sense, rather than treading over old ground again and again.
