this is the vending machine equivalent of that. yuri is staring at the array of foods he can order with the press of a finger, and assessing each one. considering he's just ordering dinner, he's looking at this menu like it's some sort of unsolved puzzle that has stumped people for generations.

please help him he'll be here forever otherwise ]

shi qingxuan, who is like halfway into a jug of wine after that entirely distressing experience with the ghosts in the tunnel, is also feeling kind of hungry. so, she's waiting for him to choose so she can pick something, but... ah.]

[ he's still squinting. ] Some of the stuff that comes out of here is... probably not what I want to be eating right now.

[ don't put that wine near him, thank u. ]

Oh, are you not feeling well...?

[she knows so many hangover cures because she's a lush. let her help you!]

[ i keep writing him like he's hungover when he's actually just drunk can you tell i'm teetotal? ]

I'm still drunk. [ it's said almost petulantly. ] The boat made us all stupid when we got on it. And now I want food but I don't know what!

[pffft-]

Oh, is that all?

[don't mind her! she's just going to slide up to the machine and tap out an order. a bowl of rice and some nicely-portioned pieces of pork belly with vegetables, along with a glass of water, pop out.]

Here. It's good to eat things like this while you're drunk - and to drink some water, too! It'll help you avoid a headache later.

[ he watches her select food and slowly drags it towards himself when it's close enough. ]

I like that you have this all planned out though. Is this a recent discovery or from years of experience?
