[ hm. adiago teas has kindly told me their take on the albinean berry blend has raspberries and blueberries, so! yuri will take the tin from him and give it a look over. ]
... Won't know until I try it. And "berry blend" is easier to find than "Seiros tea".
[Who knows where they are, your choice. Omi wanders around the base from time to time.
When their eyes meet, Yuri will see:
Omi and a boy, sitting at an outdoor table. It seems like they're on a nice balcony. They're right across from each other, as the cool autumn night breezes past them. It's not cold enough that they need to seek refuge indoors. Still cozy and comfortable.
The boy's attention is fully on Omi as he begins to speak.
His expression is soft, accepting. There's something about Azami that makes him want to talk about this, even though he keeps his past on lock down. Despite the subject matter, his voice is even.
Omi was in elementary back then, and it's nothing he could ever change.
"One day, my world suddenly changed, and I found myself having to grow up really fast.
When my mom died, it was like my dad did too.
He just barely managed to keep going to work. He stopped showing any emotion and wasn’t able to keep up with any housework, let alone take care of three kids.
My little brothers were still really young, so they didn’t understand that Mom was gone. They just knew something was wrong.
This heavy atmosphere constantly weighed on us after that. Even as a kid, I understood that our family of four guys was on the verge of collapsing.
I was the oldest, so I figured I had to do something. I asked my dad to let me take care of all the housework.
I learned from scratch how to do laundry and clean, how to use a knife, and make soup.
I’d go grocery shopping every day after school, then come home and clean, do laundry, and make dinner."
It seems like his monologue would've kept going, but the memory cuts out.]
[ throws dart -- literally in the corridor outside the biome garden, why not.
yuri should be used to seeing these kinds of memories now, there's no real way to avoid them or escape them -- seeing them or accidentally showing them, either way. he just frowns slightly at the memory. it's not his place to pick, or pry into what these things are showing, even if some of them are definitely lighter and easier to talk about.
There's something to be said about gathering necessary life skills along the way. Hardships equate to growth, one way or the other. [ whether you want it or not. ]
[ before he can say anything else though, omi will be treated to a memory (6:15 to 7:19) himself. yuri just looks tired once it's done, but slightly less put out than he could be. ]
week 1, monday
None of these sound familiar yet...
no subject
For now.]
Are you looking for something specific?
no subject
Seiros tea. It's one I like from back home. That, or any honey or berry blends might work.
no subject
How about this one?
[There's a nice raspberry and blueberry tea he'll pick out.]
no subject
... Won't know until I try it. And "berry blend" is easier to find than "Seiros tea".
[ hang on, he's going to find a pot. ]
Were you looking for something here too?
no subject
[This is a little rougher than he normally talks. But he can deal with it.]
no subject
[ he's just pouring out some leaves now. berry tea time. ]
Although what the significance of a tea room, an opium den and a circus is I'm not sure. At least we got somewhere for treating wounds.
no subject
The first aid's gonna come in handy.
[He sighs a little.]
Mind if I join you for a bit?
no subject
Somewhere that combines... a circus, a drug den, tea, and medicine? One of them certainly lives an interesting life.
[ ... ]
Sure, this place is open to all.
no subject
[He'll take a seat.]
Thanks.
no subject
[ he'll pour some tea and push a cup towards omi. ]
no subject
[Schrodinger's Hisoka??
He'll take the tea and just hold it for a moment. Nice and warm.]
no subject
So, we just hang around in the circus until one of them shows up.

... You do what you have to, to get by.
[ simple as, really. ]

It worked out in the end. Besides, I ended up really liking cooking. [It's not all bad.]

You lead a cushy life if you're a noble, or not at all, most of the time.
no subject
[He's not really sure how much of Yuri's memory he'd be comfortable talking about so. Let's focus on what he's saying now.]
We don't really have nobles where I'm from.

[ ... ]
Maybe the latter outweights the former. Like anyone, there's good types and there's bad types.

Better to leave the ones who are just trying their best alone, right? Unless I really need something from them.
no subject
What would you need from the other ones?
