I'm not asking you for answers or anything... [since they talked about it before] I just... wonder what other people think about it, I guess. While I'm trying to figure it out for myself too.
I'm sure there's sayings about it. No matter how good someone's intentions are, they might not be done for the purest of reasons.

The line between saving and protecting is thin. And I don't think one is better than the other, it's just the meaning you attach to it -- protecting someone because they owe you something, or they can provide something in the future isn't any better than saving someone for a purpose.
... That they're dangerous and probably should be allowed around drills?

Someone helping wants to help. Some who sees themselves as a saviour believes they are helping in the only way possible. One of these things is more dangerous than the other by far.
And if they can't be snapped out of that mindset, then they become an active danger. [ ... like fukuda. ]
