Sloth-san told White a few weeks ago that the souls of the dead might be kept somewhere else, and when I talked to Pride-san, they said that it'd require a crazy amount of indulgence to get them back, but it's not impossible. So it sounds like they're okay enough to be sending text messages.
I've been told to focus on getting my own wish before worrying about the others but - you've got people like Molly who... well, soon he'll remember exactly what he's indulging for.
