yuri can probably hear a few slams on the floor the opium den is on? and it won't be hard to figure out why when he wanders closer and sees mineo just trying to slam his shoulder against the door! it's not opening]

furious is one word for it. there's real, deep anger in his eyes but it tempers slightly when he spots mineo. he sucks in a sharp breath, and exhales it slowly, before walking over to him. ]

Is the door stuck?

[he frowns]

Think so... Something's blocking it from opening - not locked exactly, just barricaded.

[so he was trying to see if he could nudge it open to see what's inside but. nope.]

... you holding up okay, Yuri-san?

[aubins]

It probably won't open until tomorrow. In theory. Did you check this place out?

[ ... ]

I'm fine. I'm angry, but I'm fine. [ he's not, y'know. dead, after all. ]

[sengokus]

I can't get in, so no.

[how could he check if he can't get in, yuri.]

... yeah. I can't believe there's three.

[ maybe the door was polite for five seconds? ] Nothing suspicious outside? Or... could you hear anything?

We couldn't get into the bathroom in Envy's house, but the bath sounded like it was filling up with water.

[ sigh. ]

So much for things calming down.

[he shakes his head]

No... Nothing. I think it's barricaded.

[and he scowls about it - before glancing over to yuri]

.... I'm not even sure what's happening anymore.

[aubins]

... Neither do I.

You knew about the plan for voting tomorrow, didn't you?

[sengokus]

[he raises a brow]

Satoru's?

[aubins]

Yup. That one.

[ he waves a hand. ]

I'm almost annoyed after all the effort involved.

[sengokus]

[ . . . . ]

I know he was working on it but.... well, we'll just have to be careful with everything.

Endorsi probably would've declared war on anyone who voted for Mahito-san anyway, if she knew about it.

[aubins]

[ don't . . . . me dana all i feel is tiredness and concern nowadays. ]

She's that close to him?

[ oh endorsi. estimation is plummetting. ]

[he wrinkles his nose a bit but]

He started staying in our room because she was that worried about him. Even if I said something to her about not trusting him, she got defensive fast.

So... yeah.

[aubins]

[ he wrinkles his nose too. ]

So there's a high chance her defensive attitude towards him could complicate things. That is, assuming anyone is more interested in solving his case over, say, Aoi's,

[and he's just letting yuri know that ahead of time]

.... I know that more people want to focus on Lenore-san and Aoi-chan. I do too. But I have to put at least some effort into Mahito-san, or else... things will get complicated.

[endorsi will want to kill them all]

[ he just side eyes mineo for a moment. ]

We usually end up covering most cases anyway, by the time we're done looking at rooms. She can do as she likes. I'm more interested in figuring out who killed someone who was actively looking for ways to avoid hurting her killer.

[ haha. what a dick move. ]

[ . . . he tilts his head.]

[aubins]

Yes. Aoi.

[sengokus]

She really was too nice to be here. She never wanted to vote, or hurt anyone. Whoever went after her.... really must've been a monster.

[aubins]

It was what she said to me yesterday that hit the point home. Her injuries were because she couldn't bring herself to attack something that looked like her friend, but she wouldn't run and let someone else get hurt instead of her.

So that's where my priorities lie tomorrow. For the most part.

[why the hell are nice people at the indulgence center, how did this happen]

.... do you think that she would've tried to defend herself, if she realized that she was still awake past midnight?

She said she had a secret trick she could use, but I don’t think she would’ve attacked her killer.

A secret trick...? And I guess she wouldn't tell you if it's secret, huh.

[ he smiles. it’s a little tired. ]

No, she did. It was pepper spray.

... not a bad lead.

They might've healed but... we can check people's eyes, if not all evidence of what happens during murders can just disappear.
