When I came back from the tea room, I thought it a bit surprising that people jumped straight to Steven in terms of all of the evidence we found.
[ because there was a lot in there, and a lot of it was cactus needles. ] The scalpels were likely what killed them, and that odd tablecloth had something to do with it. I can't help but think it started there.

Luca spent a fair bit of time in the tea room as well, I think. But why go there that night? [ ... ] He and Vlad both died in the music room, and Luca or someone must have gone to the kitchen to get the croissants in the first place.

Medb also said she used her Greed powers from the other week. It was just coincidental that it was used on a victim. Like Sheila using her Gluttony powers on Luca. Which suggests it might've been in effect on the night people died?

Luca's hand was likely affected overnight, though, you're right. It could be why the music room was such a mess. [ considering... if he was summoning cacti and also trying to fight off an attacker. ] I'd wondered if perhaps someone used despair's power instead, to fixate on a lost breakfast, which would tie the croissants to Luca.
That would explain why we didn't see any remnant of it on Friday, though, I'm trying to recall if I saw anyone acting particularly strangely beside Douman.

Did someone slash it with a scalpel? Was he in the hot tub? The clown shoes had needles [ i hate this family ] in the soles, so whoever wore them was in the music room at some point. Why clown shoes?

[ moving on. ] To disguise footprints, maybe. They're obnoxiously large. Walking around in them must have been difficult, but they could get bloodied and be removed, then washed clean. My guess is that Luca created the cactus in the tea room, and the other assailant realized that could be an issue, so they went to fetch the clown shoes, then headed off to try and track Luca down. Luca may have injured the assailant in the tea room, and then left you the note when the assailant didn't immediately come after him - buying time and leaving 'breadcrumbs'.
He was likely attacked again midway through the music room. Perhaps he set a trap with the cacti everywhere, and was starting to write the second note when the assailant finally returned.
And here I thought you were a fun guy, Gu Yun. [ hope he had a great time with, or walking in one whichever lust was hyped up on greed powers. ]

Why can't we theorise like this mid-trial? Other than "because it's a chaotic nightmare and we're always getting new things thrown at us to throw us off". Do we know how many times the Lust power worked, though? If it was on a time limit, that would make sense, but if it was a one off use then he couldn't have created cacti in both the tea room and the music room.

I wonder if our two killers were working together, and one of them betrayed the other. It could explain some of the crossover, and maybe the number of bodies versus linked evidence we have.
[ ... but, actually... that's a good theory. ] Most of the powers worked for a day. Pride's was the shortest - only five minutes, and Sloth's was an hour. An hour or a day each could have been more than enough time for all of that to happen.

...You know, I think you might be onto something. So, either Vlad or Luca may have been a killer after all - I'm leaning towards Vlad, I think. Luca's actions seem defensive to me.

I'd agree. It's always possible, but I don't think Luca would've killed anyone. He was pretty aware of how much of a disadvantage he'd be in if he was targeted, or tried to kill someone. [ non-fighter, after all. ]
Mm. I think that makes the idea of him setting a cacti-laden trap and leaving a trail and a couple of notes more plausible. Not to mention, Vlad did have pastry residue in his mouth - so, he might've just picked one up, for all we know.
